Combating Child Marriage:

Economic Empowerment Programme – Promotion of Kitchen Gardens and Goat rearing:
This project has transformed the lives of tribal women in the Pachamalai Hills. Through comprehensive training and resources, women have embraced kitchen gardening, ensuring a steady supply of nutritious produce for their families. Simultaneously, goatry has provided a sustainable income source through the breeding and sale of goats and their products. This successful initiative not only addresses food security but also empowers women economically, enhancing their self-reliance and bolstering the overall resilience of the tribal community.
This project has been a lifeline, offering not just economic independence but also a renewed sense of purpose and self-esteem. Through careful guidance and education, these women have become skilled goat farmers, managing their small-scale enterprises. The sale of goats and their products has provided a sustainable source of revenue, enhancing the financial stability of these families.

Horticulture Programme:
The Small-Scale Horticulture Project has been a remarkable catalyst for transformation in the lives of tribal women residing in two hamlets nestled in the scenic Pachamalai Hills. Women in these hamlets have embarked on horticulture practices, cultivating a diverse array of fruits and vegetables. This initiative not only bolsters food security but also serves as a sustainable income source through the sale of surplus produce in local markets.
It focused on providing training, agricultural resources, and market linkages, empowering these women to become successful horticulturists. This small-scale start-up project has not only improved the livelihoods of tribal women but has also ignited economic development within these two hamlets.

- Evening Tuition Centre: Our Evening Tuition Centre offers crucial academic assistance, allowing these students to excel in their studies. Additionally, the distribution of dictionaries and Spoken English materials has enriched their language skills, facilitated improved communication, and enhanced educational opportunities. This project not only fosters academic growth but also boosts their confidence and readiness for future challenges. This project has empowered tribal students, bridged educational gaps, and paved the way for brighter academic prospects and an expanded horizon.
- Distribution of new dresses to poor tribal girls: It has made a meaningful impact on tribal girls in the Pachamalai Hills. By providing them with new dresses and dictionaries, this initiative not only enhances their educational experience but also instils a sense of pride and self-worth. The new dresses promote confidence and comfort.
- Sponsorship and distribution of dictionaries & spoken English materials to the tribal children: This project expanded the educational horizons for tribal girls in the Pachamalai Hills. This support has enabled access to quality education, scholarships, and resources that empower these girls to reach their full potential. By investing in their education, this initiative cultivates knowledge, skills, and opportunities that break the cycle of poverty and pave the path toward brighter futures. It develops the better communication & personality of the tribal children. This training is the best practice that has been followed for many years by WAG to enhance the level of education among the tribal community.
